Proper skin cleansing is the basis of effective skin care. Skin that is free from make-up residues, impurities and dead skin better absorbs active ingredients from cosmetics that we apply after cleansing. Sometimes, however, we overdo the cleansing, investing in cosmetics with strong detergents that dry our skin or irritate it. How to cleanse the skin without overloading its hydrolipidic barrier?
Double cleansing is a great solution for people who would like to cleanse their skin properly without exposing it to dehydration or redness. What is double cleansing and how to do it right?
Double Cleansing – What does it involve?
Double cleansing, as the name suggests, involves two stages of washing the face. We approach this method of cleansing in the evening – it allows for effective removal of make-up and other impurities that have settled on the skin surface during the day. The first stage is make-up removal – it is performed with the use of micellar liquid (contains special particles – micelles, which bind all impurities, sweat and sebum, which are on the skin) or make-up removal oil (preferably based on valuable vegetable oils), which perfectly dissolves mascara, foundation, lipstick and excess sebum – according to the principle “fat dissolves in fat”. The second cleansing step is to use a gentle cleansing gel with mild, safe detergents. A cleansing gel is especially necessary if you have used a micellar solution in the first step of cleansing – it will wash away the residue of the micellar solution and dissolved make-up that remains on the face. After cleansing, use a toner or hydrolate.
First Cleansing Step
As a first step, Resibo Micellar Water is a good choice – it is suitable for all skin types, even for those with imperfections, thanks to the sage extract, which has an antiseptic effect, tightens the pores and regulates sebum secretion. The pro ingredient is plant propanediol obtained from corn, which retains moisture in the epidermis, and d-panthenol is responsible for the soothing properties of the micellar water.
Cleansing oils are a great way to effectively and safely cleanse your skin. Resibo Cleansing Oil not only effectively removes make-up and other impurities, but also strongly nourishes the skin thanks to avocado, linseed, grape seed and abyssinian oils. It is a cleansing nutritional bomb for the skin! The oil comes with a special cloth which will help you to wipe off the oil with the dissolved impurities. Just moisten it with warm water.
Cleansing oils can take different forms, e.g. a balm or a butter. One of the latest products from RESIBO, the MELT AWAY Balm Cleanser, has a solid consistency. This balm can be washed off with water alone – its composition includes a very delicate and safe emulsifier that makes it behave like a washing gel when in contact with water! Not only do you get to wash your face, but you also get to let the wonderful emollients such as mango butter and grape seed oil work their magic. MELT AWAY has a beautiful mango scent – using it is a pleasure.
Second Cleansing Step
After using the cleansing oil or micellar water, we use a cleansing gel to wash and rinse off everything that was left on the skin during the first stage of cleansing. For sensitive and vascular skin, we recommend Vianek Fortifying Enzymatic Face Wash – it is a mild gel that will not irritate the skin. Chamomile oil soothes the skin, blackcurrant extract provides vitamin C to strengthen blood vessels and bromelain gently exfoliates dead skin cells.
This product is perfect for all skin types. It cleanses effectively, without damaging the hydrolipidic film of the skin, and also rejuvenates and regenerates. The gel has a nourishing effect thanks to peach pulp extract, which is rich in valuable bioactive substances. Plant betaine and oat extract, full of proteins and carbohydrates, are responsible for the gel’s moisturising properties.
